My Favorite Projects

  • Game Design Project: Maze Game

I used unreal engine to creat maze game. This game background is talking about a 10-year-old girl who failed to commit suicide and became a persistent vegetative state. In the game, we can see what happened to the girl initially, and when the player wins, they can also see the girl's story. The first level describes how the girl, after failing to commit suicide, became a vegetative state, as we learn from the doctors' conversations. The player controls the girl to leave the maze. During this, we encounter a person dressed in a rabbit costume who tells the player that his key is missing and asks for help to find it. After finding the key outside a pink house, the player enters and plays the maze game. The second level describes the girl searching for keys and coins in a grassy maze to clear the level. The third level describes the girl waking up in a hospital room and then walking downstairs to a dark maze, where one of the rooms contains a black coffin, symbolizing that the girl has died. At the end of the game, from the doctors' conversation, we learn that the girl couldn't be saved. Click me to see more...
  • Graphic Design Project: ATYPI Annual Type Conference Guide

I used Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to create the printed version of the ATYPI Annual Type Conference Guide. When I received the assignment, it reminded me of the famous Japanese artwork The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai. Big waves will roll on different days, and the event will feel like an ever-changing, dynamic experience. I designed a 3.5 x 8.5-inch book to capture and describe the event. After this class, I also created the GIF featured on this webpage. Click me to see more...
  • Video Project: What If Your Phone Dies

The short film What If Your Phone Dies? captures this modern-day reliance with a humorous yet poignant narrative. Directed by Dakoda or Nasser, and expertly edited by Xiaoyi Liu, the film takes the audience through a light-hearted journey of one man's struggle with technology and the camaraderie that ultimately saves the day.
